Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated October 10, 2026
You can remove Lightbulb's access to a connected account and ask us to delete your data at any time. There are three steps, and each works on its own: disconnect the account in Lightbulb, remove Lightbulb in your account with the provider, and ask us to delete data. To remove access completely, do the first two.
Disconnect an account in Lightbulb
- Sign in to your Lightbulb workspace and open the Connector Hub.
- Find the provider, for example Google, Meta, LinkedIn, X or TikTok, and select Disconnect.
Lightbulb stops using the connection straight away: the connection is marked as revoked, and the tools and workflows that used it are switched off. If the connection was made through our connection service, your installation then asks the service to erase the stored credential, and keeps retrying about every minute, while it is running, until the erasure succeeds.
Disconnecting a connection requires the permissions applicable to its personal, project, company or tenant scope. If you cannot manage a shared connection, ask your workspace administrator. Disconnecting a shared connection can affect other authorized users.
If a connection shows Reconnect required, the Connector Hub offers only Reconnect. Remove Lightbulb at the provider as described below, and email us to have the stored connection deleted.
Disconnecting does not delete data that Lightbulb already copied into your installation, such as email details, calendar events, file details and search index entries, posts you published and performance figures. The organization that operates your installation controls that data and can delete it.
Remove Lightbulb at the provider
Disconnecting in Lightbulb does not remove Lightbulb from the connected apps in your Google, Meta, LinkedIn, X or TikTok account. Removing it there withdraws the permissions you granted, and the tokens Lightbulb holds stop working.
- Google (Gmail, Google Workspace, YouTube, Google Analytics and Google Ads): open Third-party apps and services in your Google Account, select the Lightbulb app and remove its access. A Google Workspace administrator can also remove the app for the whole organization in the Google Admin console.
- Facebook and Instagram: in Facebook, open Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Business integrations, select Lightbulb Partners and remove it. Instagram professional accounts connected through that Facebook login lose access at the same time. If a Lightbulb app also appears under Apps and websites, remove it there too.
- LinkedIn: open Settings, then Data privacy, then Permitted services, and remove the Lightbulb app.
- X: open Settings and privacy, then Security and account access, then Apps and sessions, then Connected apps, select the Lightbulb app and revoke its access.
- TikTok: in the TikTok app, open Settings and privacy, find the apps and services connected to your account, select the Lightbulb app and remove its access.
Menu names change from time to time; each provider's help center has the current steps.
Delete your own hosted Lightbulb account
In Lightbulb, open Account, then Delete your Lightbulb account. You can also sign in to the account deletion page. Review the account shown, confirm your current password and, if enabled, your authenticator or recovery code, then submit the request. You do not need a paid subscription or new multi-factor enrolment to initiate a request for your own account.
The page shows a request reference, receipt time and response target. You can check that receipt again from another signed-in device. Submitting a request does not itself delete the account, cancel a subscription or confirm a refund. Processing remains manual; we review associated personal data, explain any retention required by law, accounting, payment disputes or security, and confirm when deletion is completed. The response target is not a promise that all active records and backups are erased on that date.
This request concerns your own hosted account. It does not authorise deletion of other people’s accounts, company records or a business installation you do not control. For personal information stored in an organisation’s installation, contact that organisation through its existing privacy process.
Ask us to delete your data
Email support@lightbulbpartners.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us:
- the email address of your Lightbulb account, if you have one;
- the provider, and the account, Page or channel you connected; and
- the Lightbulb workspace or organization it was connected to, if you know it.
Our support team coordinates deletion requests with personnel authorized to administer the affected hosted records. We may ask for reasonable identity and authority verification; do not send passwords, API keys or provider tokens. Hosted account and record deletion is currently a manual process. We assess the request, remove or de-identify information that is no longer needed, and explain any records retained for legal, accounting, dispute or security purposes. We respond without undue delay, normally within 30 days, subject to any shorter legal deadline or lawful extension explained to you. This is a response timeframe, not a promise that every record and backup is erased within 30 days. For data in your organization's installation, contact its administrator; we can explain the available steps but cannot directly delete data on a computer we do not control.
What is deleted, and where
- Our connection service (accounts.lightbulbpartners.com): after the authenticated disconnect reaches it, the stored credential is erased. Identifiers, provider details and dates remain without an automatic deletion schedule and can be included in a manual deletion request. Temporary connection sign-in records expire after 10 minutes and are then cleaned up.
- Your installation: the connection is marked as revoked and its use is stopped. A connection record and its last encrypted access token can remain until removed. A brokered connection's local access lease is limited to 24 hours, but that does not necessarily invalidate the token at the provider; revoke there as well. Copied content, search indexes and the installation's backups require separate deletion by its administrator.
- At the provider: Lightbulb does not revoke its access at Google, Meta, LinkedIn, X or TikTok when you disconnect. Remove it there as described above.
- Backups: the hosted database configuration retains automatic backups for 14 days. Active-storage erasure does not immediately remove backup copies. Your installation and external providers have their own backup policies; ask their operator about those copies.
- TikTok video exports: see TikTok data in our Privacy Policy.
